Dorothea Hotel used for state guests linked to István Tiborcz

Reports indicate that the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade has used public funds to accommodate high-ranking foreign dignitaries at the Dorothea Hotel, an establishment linked to István Tiborcz. The hotel, which opened in May 2024, became a partner of the ministry shortly thereafter.

Notable guests accommodated with taxpayer money include Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko, the President of Guinea-Bissau, the President of Colombia and his spouse, and the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, for whom costs reportedly exceeded 15 million forint. Additionally, Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš was booked at the hotel for a visit related to the CPAC conference.

In response to inquiries, the BDPST Group, which is associated with István Tiborcz, stated they have no influence over the daily commercial operations of the hotel. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has promised a response at a later date.
