Dorottya Udvaros to portray Nobel laureate Katalin Karikó in stage production

EgyÉletem Produkció has announced a new stage production centered on the life of Nobel Prize-winning researcher Katalin Karikó. The play is scheduled to premiere on November 15, 2026, at the Átrium stage, featuring actress Dorottya Udvaros in the lead role.

Based on Karikó’s 2023 autobiography, ‘Breakthroughs – My Life and Science’, the performance aims to highlight the human element behind scientific achievement. It focuses on the decades of struggles, failures, and persistence that preceded her global recognition for work fundamental to the development of modern mRNA vaccines.

Katalin Karikó is expected to attend the premiere as a guest of honor, marking the first personal meeting between the scientist and the actress portraying her. Following the premiere, the production is planned to embark on a national tour.
