Dorsten 24-hour run raises 50,000 euros for local charities
The fourth annual Dorsten 24-hour run held in July has raised approximately 50,000 euros to support various local organizations and clubs. The event saw 1,470 registered participants complete 35,386 laps, covering a total distance of more than 34,000 kilometers.
Major beneficiaries of the funds include the Lions Clubs Dorsten via the 'Zusammenspiel am Ellerbruch' association, which received 10,000 euros for a planned integrative playground in Hervest. Other significant recipients include Dorstener Lebenshilfe and the Dorsten animal shelter, which each received 6,000 euros. Additional donations were distributed to Treffpunkt Altstadt, the MECP2 – Duplikationssyndrom Deutschland association, and several other community groups including the DLRG and the THW.
