Dorsten and Recklinghausen start traffic and dog‑waste patrols on 15 June

The municipal authorities of Dorsten and the neighboring district of Recklinghausen have announced a series of traffic and dog‑waste enforcement checks that will run from 15 June to 21 June 2026.

In Dorsten, mobile speed‑radar units will monitor vehicles on Im Höfken, An der Landwehr and Halterner Straße, with additional stationary speed‑measurement points such as Lippramsdorfer Straße in Lembeck. The district will not deploy its own mobile speed checks during this period.

Dog owners will also be inspected twice a week in the Wulfen and Östrich districts. Failure to carry a waste bag (fine €25), allowing dogs on playgrounds (€40‑€90) or leaving dog waste on green spaces, sidewalks or playgrounds (€100‑€300) will result in penalties.

These checks are part of the local ordinance service’s effort to curb speeding and public‑space littering, with the possibility of unannounced inspections throughout the city.
