Dortmund expands bike-sharing network with 50 new stations
The bike-sharing service Metropolradruhr has expanded its network in Dortmund by adding approximately 50 new stations. The expansion ensures that rental bicycles are now available across all twelve city districts.
New locations have been established in various areas, including Brechten, Lindenhorst, and Fredenbaum in the north; Aplerbeck, Sölde, and Wickede in the east; Huckarder Bushof, Bahnhof Rahm, and Zeche Zollern in the west; and Hacheney, Clarenberg, and Grotenbachstraße in the south. Many of these stations are situated near bus and train stops to facilitate easier transfers.
Users can manage rentals through the Donkey Republic app. Pricing includes a base rate of 1 Euro per hour, a monthly rate of 7.50 Euro, and an annual rate of 60 Euro, with each option including 60 free minutes per day. Additionally, holders of a DSW21 subscription can ride for the first 30 minutes of each trip free of charge.
