Dortmund Police launch murder investigation after station stabbing

A homicide commission has been established by the Dortmund Police following a violent stabbing incident at the Dortmund Main Station. In the early hours of Sunday, August 10, a physical altercation broke out near the north exit on Steinstraße involving a group of individuals.

Two men were injured during the confrontation: a 39-year-old man sustained life-threatening injuries, while a 22-year-old man suffered minor injuries. Both victims suffered various puncture and laceration wounds and were transported to a hospital for treatment. Prosecutor Gülkiz Yazir confirmed that the 39-year-old remains in critical condition and is currently unable to be questioned.

The perpetrators fled the scene and remain at large. Authorities are calling for witnesses to contact the criminal police to assist in the ongoing investigation into the attempted murder.
