Dortmund street lamps at Phoenix-See repaired after weeks of malfunction

Two street lamps at Phoenix-See in Dortmund remained illuminated at full brightness during the day for several weeks, despite a system designed to keep them dimmed or turned off during daylight hours.

Local resident and retired engineer Horst Karbaum identified the malfunction of lamps numbered 133 and 116 and reported the issue via the city’s online application as early as July. Despite the report, the lights continued to shine throughout the day for an extended period. The issue has since been resolved, and the lamps are now functioning normally.
