Construction is set to begin on the Dortmunder Allee between Kamen and Unna starting Monday, August 24. The project, managed by Straßen. NRW, aims to renovate a 2.5-kilometer stretch of the road that has long been plagued by potholes.
The renovation will be carried out in six distinct phases, with each section undergoing a full closure. Drivers should expect delays and detours for at least one year. During this period, through traffic will be diverted through the Unna city area via several routes, including the L821, L665, L678, and B233.
In addition to a new roadway and reconstructed base layers, the project includes the installation of new sidewalks and cycle paths, updated drainage systems, and improved crossing aids. Three bus stops—Afferde Friedhof, Bückeburger Straße, and Südkamen Friedhof—will also be upgraded to be barrier-free.
