Dos Hermanas completes restoration of Montequinto Cross

The Dos Hermanas City Council has completed the conservation and restoration of the Montequinto Cross. The project, carried out by sculptor Antonio Luis Troya Román, aimed to recover the singular element's appearance and ensure its long-term preservation.

The intervention followed principles of minimal intervention, using materials compatible with the stone support to preserve historical and formal values. The process included a detailed study to identify cracks, biological deterioration, and accumulated dirt. Following manual cleaning and the removal of biological organisms, a breathable protective treatment was applied to reduce water absorption and protect the cross from atmospheric pollution and weathering.
