Dospat Reservoir Rescue Search Continues for Missing Jet‑Ski Rider

A 38‑year‑old man vanished after his jet ski overturned in the Dospat reservoir near Sarnitsa, Bulgaria. The incident was reported on Friday evening and rescue operations have been underway for three days.

Search teams include the regional fire‑safety service, police officers, and specialized dive units from Plovdiv, Smolyan and local volunteers. Divers face cold water, limited visibility (1‑2 m) and depths ranging from 7‑10 m to over 40 m in some sections. Despite extensive efforts, the man has not been located, and authorities are urging the public to use life‑jackets and safety equipment when operating personal watercraft on inland reservoirs.
