Dosquebradas launches anti‑human‑trafficking caravan
On Thursday, 30 July 2024, the municipality of Dosquebradas organized a large inter‑institutional caravan to raise awareness against human trafficking in line with the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. The event, coordinated by the Alcaldía de Dosquebradas through its Secretaría de Gobierno, will begin at 8:00 a.m. from the Gobernación de Risaralda and involve the Gobernación de Risaralda, Migración Colombia, the Personería de Dosquebradas and other local agencies.
The caravan’s route will pass along Avenida Ferrocarril, cross the César Gaviria Trujillo viaduct and continue on Avenida Simón Bolívar before reaching the Centro Administrativo Municipal (CAM) for a symbolic display at 10:00 a.m. It will conclude at the Manuel Elkin Patarroyo Educational Institution with pedagogical activities for students and community members. Secretary of Government Melissa Carmona Gómez urged residents to join and become multiplicators of the prevention message, emphasizing that an informed citizenry can better identify risks, protect potential victims and report exploitation promptly.
