Dosso Governor honors regional directors and receives school supplies

In the Dosso region of Niger, Governor Colonel-major Bana Alhassane has presided over two significant administrative events. On September 25, 2026, the Governor held a ceremony to present certificates of recognition to outgoing regional directors for their service. Notable recipients included the Regional Director of Health and Public Hygiene, Dr. Maman Sani Mahamane, who reported significant improvements in healthcare coverage and vaccination rates during his five-year tenure, as well as the Regional Director of Urban Planning and Housing and the Regional Head of Enabel.

Additionally, the Governor officially received a shipment of 120 tonnes of school supplies intended for the 2026-2027 academic year. Governor Alhassane noted that regional warehouses are currently at capacity and more supplies are expected soon. He credited the national leadership, including President Abdourahamane Tiani and Prime Minister Ali Mahaman Lamine Zaine, for prioritizing education, and thanked the Minister of National Education, Dr. Elisabeth Chérif, for facilitating the distribution of materials to the regions.
