Dostoevsky theatrical productions scheduled in Greece
Various theatrical productions based on the works of Fyodor Dostoevsky are scheduled to take place in Greece.
At the Vafio Theatre in Athens, the play ‘Notes from Underground’ returns for its third year. Directed by and starring Stergios Ioannou, the production explores the internal struggles of the Underground Man. The performance features Vasilina Katerini as Liza and is part of an artistic journey that includes the play ‘Aia’ by Yiannis Ritsos.
In Larissa, the musical theatre production ‘The Crocodile’ will be performed at the Second Ancient Theatre on September 10, 2026. Part of the UNDER30 International Performing Arts Festival of the Thessaly Region, the play is presented by 2026 graduates of the Drama School of the State Theatre of Northern Greece. Directed by Giorgos Christianakis, the production offers a satirical look at bureaucracy and social paradoxes through Dostoevsky’s surrealist tale.
