Douala: Teenager rescued after four-day kidnapping
A 17-year-old girl, identified as Tamane Cheo, has been rescued in Douala, Cameroon, after being missing for four days. The teenager was abducted on September 5 while traveling by motorcycle between the Maképé Saint-Tropez and Maképé Sainte-Monique neighborhoods.
According to reports from the Douala 5e municipal police, the driver of the motorcycle bypassed the girl's intended destination and accelerated. When she attempted to protest, a second passenger on the motorcycle used a handkerchief soaked in an unknown substance to render her unconscious. The victim reported being held and monitored for several days following the incident.
A joint operation involving the Douala 5e municipal police and the 18th Arrondissement Police Station successfully located her in a building at the Maképé Rond-Poulen intersection, specifically in a structure housing the Chicken King restaurant. Following her rescue on September 9, she was taken to the CMA de Bonamoussadi for medical attention. The victim indicated that her captors had been in telephone contact with a third party and suggested that other victims might have been expected in the following days.
