Double Fine announces chaotic driving game Thank You Bus Driver

Double Fine Productions has announced a new PC title titled ‘Thank You Bus Driver’. The game is described as a chaotic driving experience where players take on the role of a bus driver attempting to navigate a day of public transport while managing shifting rules and unruly passengers.

Players must balance three primary objectives: following daily rules, staying on course, and adhering to schedules. The gameplay introduces mechanics where drivers can intervene with undisciplined passengers, including unconventional methods or forcing them to exit through the rear door. To maintain efficiency, players can use maps or take improvised shortcuts through fields to reach stops on time.

Passenger satisfaction serves as a core mechanic; receiving ‘thank yous’ provides additional time to reach subsequent stops and can unlock bus decorations and variants. The game will be available on PC via Steam, GOG, Humble Store, and itch.io, though a specific release date has not yet been announced.
