Double Fine honors Tim Curry by making Brütal Legend free for 666 minutes
Double Fine Productions has made the 2009 heavy-metal action-adventure game ‘Brütal Legend’ available for free on itch.io for a limited period of 666 minutes. The gesture serves as a tribute to actor Tim Curry, who voiced the character Doviculus in the game and passed away recently at the age of 80.
In a message posted on the distribution platform, the studio wrote, ‘Rest in peace, dark prince.’ The game, founded by Tim Schafer, is noted for its heavy metal aesthetic and a cast featuring various musical legends and actors.
Following a period of independence after parting ways with Microsoft, Double Fine also announced the return of its Amnesia Fortnight game jam as the studio looks toward future projects.
