Double Fine Productions announces Amnesia Fortnight 2026 Kickstarter campaign

Double Fine Productions has announced the return of Amnesia Fortnight 2026 – Indie Reboot, a live game jam and Kickstarter campaign starting August 31. The event will allow backers to vote on game concepts, selecting four ideas to be developed into prototypes. From those prototypes, one will be chosen to become a finished small game published under the studio’s new label, Double Fine Action Labs.

The event will be livestreamed and filmed by 2 Player Productions for a new documentary. This initiative follows a period of significant transition for the studio; after being cut from Xbox’s internal roster during a massive restructuring in July, Double Fine returned to independent management. While the studio retained its intellectual property and catalog, the shift to independence resulted in the layoff of 23 employees as the company reorganized to a more sustainable size.
