Pregnant Woman Assaulted with Bottle in Estância Velha, Brazil

Security cameras recorded a 20‑year‑old woman, nine weeks pregnant, being struck on the head with a bottle by her boyfriend on Avenida Campo Grande in Estância Velha, Rio Grande do Sul. The assault left her with head bruises, neck cuts and a hand wound, causing her to lose consciousness before emergency services arrived. Police said the suspect fled the scene and has not been located; he faces possible indictment for attempted femicide. The victim has filed for a protective order.

The incident was logged as bodily injury by the São Leopoldo police station, and the investigation is being handled by the Estância Velha police department.
