Doubravník accident: Child killed and several injured in drunk driving crash
A fatal traffic accident near Doubravník has resulted in the death of a ten-year-old boy. The incident occurred when a vehicle carrying children from a football camp drove off the road and struck a tree. The driver, identified as a coach, was reportedly under the influence of alcohol, with a breathalyzer test exceeding three per mille.
Medical updates from Brno University Hospital indicate that while two children have been discharged, two others remain hospitalized in intensive care. Their condition is reported to be improving. The driver remains hospitalized as police conduct a criminal investigation into negligent homicide.
The FK Střelice football club stated they are cooperating fully with authorities and will review their organizational procedures for youth events to prevent future tragedies.
