Juventus seeks goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez from Aston Villa

Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti confirmed that Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez is a top priority for the club’s goal‑keeping department. Spalletti told reporters after a pre‑season friendly, "He is a goalkeeper who wants to change teams, and we're looking for competitiveness," adding that Juventus currently have two other keepers on the roster.

Juventus chief executive Giovanni Carnevali also expressed interest, saying the club must wait until the World Cup ends to assess Martínez’s situation. The transfer is complicated by the player’s high market valuation – reported around €12 million, with earlier estimates reaching €35 million – and Aston Villa’s firm stance that the goalkeeper will remain for the upcoming season.

Martínez, who was part of Argentina’s runner‑up campaign at the 2026 World Cup, has a contract with Villa until 2029 but is widely linked with a move to Turin. Juventus faces the challenge of meeting Villa’s demands while strengthening competition in the goalkeeper position.
