Douglas Gook outlines BC Green Party platform for Cariboo-Chilcotin

Douglas Gook, the BC Green Party candidate for the Cariboo-Chilcotin riding, has outlined his platform for the 2026 provincial election. Gook aims to facilitate a ‘community consensus democracy’ to address issues he attributes to the corporate capture of government and workplaces.

His proposed policy solutions include implementing proportional representation, enacting a new forest and mining act, providing fast and frequent free transit, and the renationalization of BC Rail for both passenger and freight services. Additionally, Gook advocates for expanding community health clinics, ending fossil fuel subsidies, and introducing an extreme wealth tax to address intergenerational inequality.
