Douglas Park Pickleball Club raises $30,000 for school autism assessments
The Douglas Park Pickleball Club raised a record $30,402 during its sixth annual fundraising tournament held in July. The funds were presented to the Douglas Park Community School Society to support autism assessments for students whose families cannot afford private evaluations.
The tournament featured 245 competitors and surpassed last year’s total of $28,648. Herv Bezjak, chair of the school society, noted that these assessments assist children throughout their entire educational path, from the initial diagnosis through grade 12.
