Douglas scores and provokes Internacional at Marau gymnasium reopening

A festive football match between former players of Grêmio and Internacional marked the reopening of the Jatyr Francisco Foresti Municipal Gymnasium in Marau, Rio Grande do Sul. The match ended in a 5-5 draw.

Former Grêmio midfielder Douglas, a winner of the 2016 Copa do Brasil and 2017 Libertadores, scored during the game and celebrated by performing a traditional “15-year-old debutante waltz.” The dance was a provocation directed at Internacional, referencing the club’s period without major titles.

The event featured several notable figures from Rio Grande do Sul football, including Edilson, Fábio Rochemback, and Anderson Polga for Grêmio, and Christian, Wilson Mathias, and Chiquinho for Internacional. The gymnasium underwent significant revitalization, including a new roof, updated seating, and court dimensions expanded to official futsal standards.
