Costa Rica signals openness to US military aid and appoints new ambassador

In a separate diplomatic development, the Costa Rican government has officially confirmed the appointment of Second Vice President Douglas Soto Campos as the new Ambassador to the United States. Having received formal approval from the US government, Soto Campos, a lawyer with experience in the banking and corporate sectors, will present his credentials to the US Department of State and President Donald Trump. This appointment is intended to strengthen bilateral ties regarding security, investment, and economic development.
