Dourados launches 23rd Interdistrital Football Championship

The 23rd edition of the Interdistrital Football Championship, a traditional amateur competition in Dourados, begins this Sunday at the Fradique Corrêa Stadium in the Vila Vargas district. Organized by the City Hall and conducted by the Dourados Sports Foundation (Funed), the event features six teams divided into two groups.

Group A includes Associação Atlética Vila Vargas (AAVV), Associação Atlética Vila Formosa (AAVF), and Panambi. Group B consists of Cooperativa, São Pedro, and Colonial de Indápolis. The opening match will feature last year's champion, AAVV, against Panambi.

The tournament follows a format of home and away matches during the first phase, with the team with the best campaign earning the right to host the final match in their district. Beyond the competition, the event aims to promote sports and foster integration among rural communities, athletes, and residents.
