Dourados ordered to reduce ophthalmology waiting lists

The Public Ministry of Mato Grosso do Sul (MPMS) has notified the Dourados City Hall to present an action plan within 20 days to address excessive waiting lists for ophthalmology services. The demand for eye care, including consultations, exams, and surgeries, has exceeded the current capacity of the local network.

The requested plan must include specific goals, a timeline, and emergency measures such as medical blitzes, extended hours, and the hiring or accreditation of specialists. The 10th Prosecution Office of Dourados has opened an administrative procedure to continuously monitor service provision and ensure that the number of available slots is compatible with the population's needs.
