Douro region expands wine portfolio with new white wine releases

The Wine Collection has launched three new white wines from the Douro region, with retail prices ranging from 6.99 to 17.50 euros. The release includes a limited edition, the Vilarissa Valley Grande Reserva Branco 2024, which is produced only during exceptional years. This specific wine underwent nine months of aging in oak barrels and is positioned as a premium reference for the Douro Superior area.

The expansion of the Douro region's portfolio reflects a broader historical shift. While the region is globally recognized for Port wine, the development of the DOC Douro in 1982 helped regulate and promote still red and white wines. This evolution has allowed the territory to establish a reputation for high-quality still wines alongside its traditional fortified products.
