Douro region hosts Halloween cruise and historical train season finale

The Douro River will host ‘The Fear Cruise’ on October 31, a two-hour Halloween-themed event. Operating from 10:00 PM to midnight, the Party Boat, managed by Living Tours, will feature a floating haunted house atmosphere, masked crew, and a continuous DJ set. The cruise offers views of Porto, Vila Nova de Gaia, Port wine cellars, and local bridges. Tickets are priced at 29€ and include a choice of a gin tonic, port tonic, or two soft drinks.

Additionally, the Douro Historical Train is concluding its 2026 season with a final journey on October 18. The route runs from Peso da Régua to Tua, traversing the Alto Douro Vinhateiro, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The service is noted for its role in local tourism and the promotion of regional products.
