Douro Valley celebrates wine heritage through festivals and media

The Douro Valley is highlighted through upcoming cultural and media events focused on its viticulture and heritage. On September 11, Quinta da Roêda will host the Harvest Party, an event celebrating the grape harvest season. The program includes gastronomy featuring traditional flavors from the Douro and Trás-os-Montes regions, such as 'sopa da vindima' and 'arroz de pato da vindima,' accompanied by local wines and Port wine.

Additionally, the documentary series ‘Fora do Mapa’ on Canal Travel Plus explores how wine production has shaped the Douro landscape. The series examines the region's status as a UNESCO World Heritage site, tracing its history from the agricultural traditions in Tabuaço to the historical Pinhão Railway Station, which features tile panels depicting the history of wine production and transport.
