Douro Valley offers traditional wine harvest experiences

The Douro Valley in Portugal offers immersive viticulture experiences during the grape harvest season, which runs from late August through September. Quinta da Pacheca, part of Grupo Pacheca, provides guests with opportunities to engage in traditional harvest rituals, including grape treading and following the production process from the vineyard to the winery.

Complementing these activities, Quinta São José do Barrilário serves as a five-star hotel located on a former wine estate. The property features architecture designed to integrate with the landscape, utilizing local materials such as granite, wood, and iron. The hotel's design incorporates wine-inspired elements, such as beds shaped like old barrels, and preserves historical sites like an ancient chapel once linked to the Jesuit Order.
