Douro wine producers launch new premium releases

Several producers in Portugal's Douro region have introduced new premium wine offerings. Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo has released the Mirabilis Tinto 2023, a red wine produced through a rigorous barrel-by-barrel selection process. The wine aims to showcase the complexity of the Douro region by utilizing centennial vines and a diverse range of over 40 identified grape varieties.

Additionally, Quinta da Boeira has launched two limited editions: the Boeira Tawny 80 Anos, a Port wine aged in wooden casks for eight decades, and the Boeira Vinhas Velhas 2023. The latter is a Douro DOC red wine produced from old vines in Alijó, including plots planted as far back as 1976. The Vinhas Velhas edition is limited to 1,600 bottles.
