Dovile Šakalienė may participate in Seimas NSGK meetings

Jonas Olekas indicated that Dovile Šakalienė may be able to participate in the meetings of the Seimas National Security and Defense Committee (NSGK). Olekas stated he has spoken with both Šakalienė and the committee chairman, Rimantas Sinkevičius, and believes the issues raised by Šakalienė regarding information access and participation will be resolved.

Šakalienė, a deputy member of the committee, had previously stated she was not participating in committee work after being informed by Chairman Sinkevičius that she should not attend meetings. The former Minister of National Defense has been working on the Seimas Committee on Legal Affairs and Legislation since October of last year. Previous discussions regarding her involvement in the NSGK involved decisions by the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party (LSDP) board.
