Down announces new album ‘Volume V’ for November release

The New Orleans-based heavy metal supergroup Down has announced the release of their new studio album, ‘Volume V’, scheduled for November 20, 2026, via Nuclear Blast Records. This marks the band’s first full-length album since 2007’s ‘Down III: Over the Under’.

The quintet includes vocalist Philip H. Anselmo, guitarists Pepper Keenan and Kirk Windstein, drummer Jimmy Bower, and bassist Pat Bruders. Much of the material was developed during writing sessions at Anselmo’s home studio, Nodferatu’s Lair.

Alongside the announcement, the band released the single and music video for ‘Blood Oath’. The upcoming album also features a collaboration with King Diamond on the track ‘Merciful Fate’, which includes additional vocals from Livia Zita. Other notable tracks include ‘The Myth’ and ‘Twice-Told Tales’, the latter of which Anselmo noted was influenced by Ozzy Osbourne.
