Downer secures AUD 800 million in water contracts across Australia and New Zealand
Downer has secured water and wastewater service contracts totaling over AUD 800 million across Australia and New Zealand.
In New Zealand, the company obtained a contract with Watercare Services Limited valued at up to NZD 420 million (approximately AUD 378 million). Commencing on 1 October 2026, the 10-year agreement covers the maintenance and operation of roughly 3,500 kilometres of watermains and 2,700 kilometres of sewerage networks in Auckland’s northern regions. Additionally, Downer secured a contract with the Invercargill City Council worth up to NZD 120 million (approximately AUD 108 million) for the operation and maintenance of water, wastewater, and stormwater networks over up to fifteen years.
In Australia, Downer extended its partnership with the Logan City Council in Queensland. The extension, valued at approximately AUD 320 million, will continue through 1 July 2027 under the Logan Water Infrastructure Program Alliance, focusing on the planning, design, and management of water and sewerage assets.
