Downes Braide Association Announces Sixth Album 'Trauma

Downes Braide Association – the studio partnership of keyboardist Geoff Downes and songwriter Chris Braide – will release its sixth studio album, *Trauma*, on 25 September 2024 through Cherry Red Records. The first single, "Wonderland," is accompanied by a music video. The album’s material was written and recorded in locations ranging from the River Thames in Richmond to Los Angeles, with final work completed in Gloucestershire, South Wales and mastering in Devon. Both artists describe the record as a journey from darkness to light, focusing on resilience and survival rather than suffering.

Braide says the songs “emerged from the cracks” and deal with “the ghosts we inherit, the wounds we hide, and the light that still finds its way through.” Downes adds that the project explores “diverse influences” and blends epic long‑form pieces with pop‑rock and techno elements.
