Doxa Lefkadas to play home games in Lefkada
Andreas Nisiotis, president of the basketball club Doxa Lefkadas, has confirmed that the team will play its home matches at the Lefkada Indoor Hall for the upcoming Stoiximan GBL season. While Karditsa was initially declared as a secondary venue to meet ESAKE requirements, the club expects the local arena to be fully ready following an inspection scheduled for next week.
Renovations at the municipal facility are progressing rapidly, including the installation of new stands, painting, and the completion of locker rooms, press offices, and coaching offices. The arena is expected to have a capacity of 1,600 to 1,700 spectators and includes a newly constructed gymnasium. Nisiotis noted that bureaucracy regarding the municipal property was the primary challenge during the renovation process.
Regarding team performance and fan engagement, Nisiotis expressed optimism, noting that the team has won its friendly matches and maintains a strong atmosphere. He also anticipates high local support, projecting season ticket sales to reach approximately 1,000, surpassing the initial estimate of 600.
