DP World appoints Jason Varsamidis as Asia Pacific CEO

DP World has named Jason Varsamidis as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director for its Asia Pacific region, effective immediately. Varsamidis will oversee the company’s ports, terminals, and logistics operations across 22 geographies, managing a workforce of more than 12,000 employees.

A veteran of the company, Varsamidis joined the organization in 1997 through P&O Ports. He most recently served as the Chief Financial Officer for DP World Asia Pacific starting in 2020, and previously held the role of Chief Financial Officer for DP World Australia for seven years. His experience includes overseeing mergers and acquisitions, infrastructure projects, and business turnaround programs.

In his new capacity, Varsamidis is tasked with driving regional strategy, enhancing operational performance, and expanding integrated logistics capabilities to strengthen end-to-end supply chains. DP World Group CEO Yuvraj Narayan noted that the appointment provides continuity for the region, which serves as a key growth engine for the company.
