DP World completes £13m training hub at London Gateway

DP World and Thames Freeport have completed ‘The Hive’, a £13 million skills, innovation, and amenity hub located at London Gateway. The three-storey facility is designed to support workforce development within the logistics and maritime sectors, aiming to provide more than 100 days of industrial and employability training annually for approximately 1,125 trainees across the Freeport.

The hub features advanced training technology, including crane driver simulators, virtual reality tools for career exploration, and working-at-height training facilities. Beyond education, the center serves as a collaborative space for businesses in the London Gateway Logistics Park, offering a 100-person auditorium, flexible meeting rooms, and a double-height training area.

To support employee wellbeing, the facility includes a gym, an all-weather padel court, and a multi-use sports pitch. Built using British steel, the development has achieved a BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ certification and an EPC A+ rating. SEATS has been appointed as the skills partner to deliver workforce development programs, with training providers expected to begin operations in November 2026.
