DP World opens FMCG contract logistics center in Italy

DP World has launched its first contract logistics operation for fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) in Italy. The 22,000 square meter temperature-controlled facility is located in Castel San Pietro Terme, near Bologna.

The center is designed to serve the food and beverage industry, e-commerce, and consumer goods sectors by integrating warehousing, transport, e-commerce fulfillment, and value-added logistics services. This expansion aims to provide end-to-end supply chain solutions for customers across Italy and Europe.

The facility operates through a strategic partnership with Alce Nero, an Italian organic food company that serves as the anchor customer. Under this agreement, DP World manages key logistics components for Alce Nero, including warehousing and transport, to allow the company to focus on its core business.
