DP World restructuring could impact 300 European jobs
DP World, the Dubai-based global logistics company, is reorganizing its European operating model, a move that could potentially impact approximately 300 jobs. While the company's Antwerp branch has confirmed the restructuring, it remains unclear if Belgian staff will be among those affected.
Despite the potential job losses and recent instability within the regional management team—marked by the departure of senior executives such as Dries Van Hoeymissen—the company is maintaining strategic investments in Belgium. DP World recently committed 50 million euros to improvements in the Waaslandhaven port.
A company spokesperson stated that DP World employs over 20,000 people in Europe and continues to expand its regional presence. The reorganization is described as a periodic review of operational management intended to maintain competitiveness and meet evolving customer needs. The company noted that while the transition may affect certain roles, it does not necessarily imply immediate mass layoffs.
