DP World Tour CEO Guy Kinnings has described Rory McIlroy as an ‘immense asset’ and an ‘extraordinary spokesman’ for the European golf circuit. Kinnings highlighted McIlroy’s ability to promote the tour globally, noting his influence in international markets and his role in raising the organization's profile.

The comments come amid a shifting landscape in professional golf. Kinnings suggested that Jon Rahm’s potential exit from LIV Golf could provide a significant boost to the DP World Tour by 2027. As the tour looks toward international expansion, it plans to increase its schedule to include 17 national opens in 2027, up from the current 13.

McIlroy remains a central figure in the ongoing tensions and restructuring within the sport, particularly regarding the relationship between the DP World Tour, the PGA Tour, and LIV Golf.
