DPD RI partners with BRIN and ICMI on AI and climate policy

The Regional Representative Council of Indonesia (DPD RI) has partnered with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and the Indonesian Muslim Intellectuals Association (ICMI) to strengthen research-based legislation and public policy.

This collaboration, formalized through two memorandums of understanding signed in Jakarta, aims to provide a strong academic foundation for the DPD RI's legislative and supervisory functions. Key strategic issues identified for study include artificial intelligence (AI) regulation, climate change, and the high costs of politics. DPD RI Chairman Sultan Baktiar Najamudin emphasized that the partnership is intended to transform the DPD RI into a modern parliament that makes decisions based on data and rigorous academic analysis.
