DPD RI urges action on BPK audit findings to improve regional finance
The Regional Representative Council of Indonesia (DPD RI) is urging the government to ensure that audit findings from the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK RI) lead to tangible improvements in state financial management, particularly at the regional level.
During the 3rd Plenary Session of the 2026-2027 session in Jakarta, DPD RI leadership handed over the 2026 Semester I Summary of Audit Results (IHPS) and Audit Result Reports (LHP) to the Committee IV leadership. DPD RI Chairman Sultan B. Najamudin emphasized that these documents should not merely serve as administrative archives but must act as instruments for strengthening oversight and driving reforms in regional governance.
Sultan called on all DPD RI members to use these audit results as a basis for coordination with local governments. The goal is to ensure that BPK recommendations are concretely implemented to foster transparent, accountable, and people-oriented financial management. He noted that regional oversight is vital to national interests, as issues such as food prices, employment, and public service quality are directly felt by citizens in the regions.
