DPDB meetings held in Peren and Zunheboto districts

District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meetings were held in Peren and Zunheboto to address regional development and administrative issues.

In Peren, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Hiazu Meru, the board reviewed the NAAC accreditation for Peren Government College, the Green Peren initiative, and the Barak River Catchment Area Project. The board approved the creation of a health sub-centre at Mhaikam Village and discussed a measles outbreak in the district, which officials noted is currently contained and declining. Additionally, the board addressed the Reform Utsav, a Government of India initiative launched in New Peren Village.

In Zunheboto, Deputy Commissioner Dharam Raj chaired a meeting where he emphasized that Heads of Offices must remain at their official postings to fulfill responsibilities regardless of scheduled DPDB meetings. The board discussed the handover of the Town Hall to Zunheboto Government Higher Secondary School, a shortage of graduate teachers, and a proposal to establish a library in memory of former EAC L. Sailo. Presentations were also made regarding employment and skill development initiatives.
