DPR Commission I tests 25 Indonesian ambassador candidates

The Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Commission I is conducting fit and proper tests for 25 candidates nominated to serve as ambassadors for various friendly nations and international organizations. The evaluation process, scheduled for September 22–23, 2026, follows a Presidential Letter (Surpres) received by the House leadership on August 10, 2026.

Among the candidates are individuals nominated for key posts in China, the United Kingdom, India, Jordan, Greece, Colombia, Timor-Leste, Tanzania, Sudan, Sri Lanka, Kuwait, Peru, Spain, and the Philippines. The proceedings aim to ensure that the selected diplomats are capable of representing Indonesia effectively on the global stage.
