DPR member urges acceleration of BUMN streamlining

Firnando Ganinduto, a member of Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), is calling for the acceleration of the streamlining process for State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN). During a working visit to Manado, North Sulawesi, Ganinduto emphasized that the restructuring aims to create a leaner, more effective, and productive corporate structure.

The policy is reportedly a direct presidential mandate implemented through Danantara. The restructuring is not limited to specific companies like PT Pertamina but applies to all BUMN. The goal is to minimize unnecessary subsidiaries and sub-subsidiaries that lack clear functions and consume excessive resources.

Ganinduto stressed that efficiency in BUMN is a matter of protecting public funds. He urged that the streamlining process be conducted precisely and based on thorough studies to ensure that the reduction in corporate size does not compromise core business functions, particularly in the energy sector, while maximizing benefits for the public.
