DPR RI to limit outsourcing under Labor Protection Law

Indonesia's House of Representatives (DPR RI) has affirmed that outsourcing practices will remain legal but will be strictly limited under the Labor Protection Law. Putih Sari, Vice Chair of Commission IX and Chair of the Labor Protection Bill Working Committee, stated that while outsourcing cannot be entirely eliminated due to global trends and Constitutional Court mandates, it will be restricted to specific sectors.

The permitted outsourcing categories include cleaning services, catering, security, drivers, operational support services, and support roles in the mining, oil, gas, and electricity sectors. The DPR aims to implement binding regulations for these sectors to ensure workers have clear employment relationships, job certainty, and protected rights.
