Dr. Amanda Acord-Vira passes away in Morgantown

Dr. Amanda Acord-Vira passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, in Morgantown, West Virginia. A specialist in occupational therapy and brain injury rehabilitation, she dedicated her career to teaching and supporting students facing profound challenges.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Michael T. Vira, and their son, Connor Vira. The family has requested that memorial donations be made to WVU Medicine Hospice in lieu of flowers. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Hastings Funeral Home.
