Dr. Amir Khan warns eye bumps may signal high cholesterol

Dr. Amir Khan, a general practitioner, has warned that new white or yellowish bumps around the eyelids and eyebrows may be a sign of high cholesterol. Speaking on the program ‘Lorraine’, Khan noted that the face can reveal significant health information through simple observation.

High cholesterol levels, which can be linked to diet, weight, smoking, alcohol consumption, and lack of physical activity, increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases such as heart attacks and strokes. According to NHS data, excess cholesterol can accumulate in blood vessel walls.

Dr. Khan also highlighted other facial indicators: new or permanent drooping of the eyelids may indicate issues with nerves, the brain, or eye muscles, while increased facial hair in women could signal polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
