Dr. Andrea Humphrey discusses building support systems
Pastor and leadership strategist Dr. Andrea “Dr. Dre” Humphrey has released a new book titled “Cheerleaders, Coaches, Comrades, and Champions: Building the Team That Builds You.” The work focuses on the importance of building strong support systems to enable sustainable personal and professional growth.
During an appearance on “Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell,” Humphrey discussed the necessity of surrounding oneself with people who encourage progress rather than hindering it. She emphasized that meaningful connections are essential for individuals to lead and thrive, noting that “nobody becomes their best self all by themselves.”
To manage social circles, Humphrey recommends conducting “friendship audits” and “relationship audits.” These processes help individuals determine if their connections are aligned with their current purpose and season of life. She advised that while identifying misalignment is crucial, it does not always require permanently ending relationships.
